Program Information

The Respiratory Care Program admits ONE class per year in the fall. The program provides excellent instructor-to-student ratio with four semesters of hospital experience. The following courses, which must be completed with a “C” or higher, are the minimum prerequisite courses to make application to the program:

ENC 1101 College Composition I
MAC 1105 College Algebra or higher
BSC 2085C Human Anatomy & Physiology I
BSC 2086C Human Anatomy & Physiology II

Successful completion of the program grants an AS in Respiratory Care. This allows the graduate to take the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) entry-level exam. Upon successful completion of the entry-level exam, one can apply for licensure in Florida. (CURRENTLY, WE HAVE A 100% PASS RATE ON THE NBRC BOARD EXAM FOR FLORIDA LICENSURE.)

The Respiratory Care Program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). CoARC may be reached at 817.283.2835.
